Ketamine Therapy Prices @ Therapy Unlocked
An explanation of the prices for our two main Ketamine programs, Self Directed Ketamine Therapy and Therapist Assisted Ketamine Therapy.
Self-Directed Ketamine Therapy
A bit of a misnomer, as you are still under the care of both our medical and mental health staff, however you will see them less often. Self-Directed Ketamine Therapy still requires that you see our prescriber once a month and one of our counselors once a month. However, you do the actual ketamine sessions in the privacy of your own home. It’s our most popular program.
Therapist Assisted Ketamine Therapy
This is defined by how hands on it is with our staff. Our Prescriber sees you once a month, just like the Self-Directed program. However, a counselor will see you at least once a week to process afterwards, and may sit with you through the sessions as well.
Some Details
- These are just example, but are real prices. Please reach out to [email protected] for more info.
- For the examples, we are going to assume insurance with a copay of $25. That's common, but every insurance plan is different. We are happy to run your insurance info and tell you the expected cost.
- This is expected monthly costs, and most people choose to do several months, that's between you and your clinical team and there is no subscriptions or anything sneaky.
Self-Directed
- $150-Medication to your door
- $25 copay for the prescriber
- $25 copay for each counseling session (twice minimum, so $50)
- total cost of $225 a month.
- The above example is the minimum amount of appointments, most people choose to see their therapist weekly. Most also choose that they see their therapist the day after self administering.
- Remember: Everyone's insurance is different, even within the same year. You may have a different copay, or a deductible to meet first. We can run your insurance info and let you know when you reach out.
Therapist Assisted-Full
- $150-Medication to your door
- $25 copay for the prescriber
- $25 copay for each counseling session for the first hour, and self pay of $125 for the second hour
- For 4 dosing sessions a month, and a therapist to guide you through each session.
- total cost of $775 a month
- This is the most comprehensive plan. Insurance typically only pays for one hour of a counselor's time, while these sessions are usually 2 hours, so that's why the second hour is self pay.
Frequently Asked Questions
The best way to figure that out is to talk to one of our KAP (Ketamine Assisted Therapy) trained counselors to help you come up with a plan. Then you see our prescriber to discuss your medical care and they will prescribe as/if appropriate and have it shipped right to your door if that’s the plan. Most people start with therapy, add in the self directed sessions, and if needed, maybe schedule an occasional therapist directed session. It’s all based on what’s best for the client.
The simplest way to do it is to email [email protected] and we can get you set up. Your counselor can talk to you about options in the intake session. By default we will probably start with something self-directed if the counselor and prescriber find it to be appropriate.
It’s true, we don’t just rubber stamp prescriptions. Our prescribers and counselors are licensed and trained and will make sure you get help as appropriate. If you are not a good fit for some reason, you will be told why (most likely in session with either the prescriber or counselor) and offered alternative treatment. We are a relatively full-service mental health group and can usually come up with a plan to try and help. This could be alternative medications or therapy to try first. You won’t be charged weird fees or anything unexpected, and you will know what’s going on along the way.
It does for some people. We try to combine our options into something that we feel has the best chance. Therapy works well for many people, and you will be seeing a therapist. Psychiatric medication works well for many people, and our prescriber will help you with that if appropriate. Ketamine treatment works well for many people as well. The combination is a multi-pronged approach to mental health that we find to be more cohesive and effective for many people. If your specific case? Nothing is guaranteed, but we try to make it affordable enough to find out.
Check out our research page for more info.
Your prescriber is your prescriber, so they will be checking in with you about any medication they are prescribing you, or that may be therapeutic to prescribe you. You are encouraged to discuss your needs with your prescriber, just like you would with your therapist. Ketamine is an extra tool in the tool bag, it doesn’t get rid of any of the other ones.
Nope. We do not do house calls. However, we have comfy couches at our office you can use, as well as telehealth appointments. We can pull up a video chat and you can do it from the comfort of your own home if that’s what is best for you.
