Meet the Team

Lydia Joiner is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is supervised by Vikki Sears, LPC-S. She grew up traveling with her father who was in the oil business which afforded her the experience of living in a variety of places such as New Delhi, Pattaya, and Tehran. She graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science and her Masters in Counseling is from Sam Houston State University. Lydia went on to spend 23 years as a high school counselor. She also competes with her dogs in a variety of venues.  She was named as a semi finalist for the Lone Star State School Counselor of the Year and a semi finalist for the ESC Region VI Counselor of the year.

Helping clients grow, overcome adversity, move forward, and meet their goals is Lydia’s passion. Her strengths are helping people navigate anxiety, grief processing, and mental management for competitors. She has experience working with Autistic clients and other neurodivergent populations. Lydia feels that the best therapists join clients on their journey and listen far more than they speak. She specializes in actively listening, offering non-judgemental support and guidance while using humor as a way to heal.
