Get to know Emily Ilseng

Licensed Marriage and Family therapist- Associate under the supervision of Carla Noto-Vencill LMFT-S. I have a Masters of Arts in counseling with a concentration in Marriage, couples and family therapy from St. Edwards university. I also Have a Bachelors in Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University.

My therapy approach is working from a collaborative lens while maintaining a safe, authentic and non-judgmental environment for my clients. The theoretical approaches I use in my practice are Narrative therapy, emotional focused therapy, solutions focused therapy cognitive behavioral therapy as well as self-compassion work. I have experiences with couples, individuals, and families from different stages of life.

I am passionate about working with couples and individuals to help them understand themselves in a deeper and meaningful way individually and relationally. My goal is to help clients feel strong and empowered to face the challenges life might be throwing at you. As your therapist I will be with you every step of the way through these challenges by offering a warm and safe environment for growth and healing. I believe that every individual has a story to tell, and has an opportunity to grow and heal from the past and its challenges. I want my clients to feel they are accepted just as they are. I work with clients by meeting them where they are at by supporting them and offering an encouraging, warm, authentic and non-judgmental stance.
